Cherie Hansen, D.O.

Dr. Cherie Hansen is a board-certified primary care physician specializing in family medicine and addiction medicine.

She earned her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale and completed her residency at AdventHealth East Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital East Orlando.

Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Hansen earned her master’s degree and began a career as a college professor teaching a variety of science courses, including Theory of Evolution, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, and Ecology. It was during a trip to South America where she explored the rainforests of Guiana and saw how limited the care there was that Dr. Hansen decided to alter her career path and attend medical school.

In her free time, Dr. Hansen enjoys spending time with her husband on their small farm where they ride horses. She and her husband have four adult children who visit regularly and help out with the farm chores.
