Dr. Daniel Stegman is a primary care physician specializing in Family Medicine. He attended Arizona State University and completed medical school at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did his residency training at McAlester Regional Health Center in Oklahoma. Dr. Stegman is excited to be joining VIPcare and looks forward to establishing his family of patients and joining them on their healthcare journey. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Madison, and their young son.

Dr. David Griffiths is a board-certified Family Medicine specialist with over 38 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from Stanford University and attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. He completed his residency training at the University of Oklahoma Tulsa Medical College. Dr. Griffiths serves as the Chair of MyHealth’s Clinical Quality Committee for the Tulsa County Medical Society. In addition to family medicine, he has much experience in sports medicine. Dr. James Phoenix is a dedicated primary care physician specializing in Internal Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Phoenix decided to practice medicine because he wanted to work in a field where his work would directly influence people and he could see the results of those efforts. He enjoys the contact he has with his patients and being able to help them identify their problems promptly and see them through the process of resolution or treatment.

“Primary care is unique in the medical field in that we seeentire breadth of the medical problems a patient might have and are in the position to significantly improve their quality of life,” he said. Dr. Phoenix has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient care, with clinical interests including preventative care and chronic disease management. He is a former member of the St. John Physician Executive Council, where he was involved in making governance decisions on evidence-based process improvement, Medicare and insurance compliance, and practice maximization. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, reading books of all types, and lake activities.

Dr. Lawrence Lieberman is a board-certified primary care physician specializing in Family Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, and completed his residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Lieberman has 28 years of experience in the medical field and is affiliated with several hospitals. He was previously a primary care physician at Harvard Family Physicians in Tulsa, OK. Dr. Nathan Wood is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Baptist University and earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He was inspired to become a physician at an early age by his family’s doctor, whose compassion and dedication left a lasting impression. By the time he was four years old, he knew he wanted to follow in those footsteps and dedicate his life to caring for others. As a family physician, Dr. Wood finds his greatest joy in building meaningful, long-term relationships with his patients. He values the opportunity to hear their stories, provide guidance, and work alongside them to achieve better health. His approach to care is collaborative and patient-centered, emphasizing open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making. He is especially committed to supporting senior patients with attentive listening, clear explanations, and compassionate encouragement, always making sure they feel valued and empowered. Originally from Pawhuska, OK, Dr. Wood is grateful to live and work in eastern Oklahoma, where he enjoys the strong sense of community and the natural beauty of the rolling hills and wooded landscapes. In his free time, he enjoys reading and studying the Bible, preparing sermons, and exploring how world events relate to biblical teachings. While serving as a medical officer in the Air Force, he became a private pilot, and he enjoys attending airshows. Dr. Wood loves to spend quality time with his wife of 31 years and their two daughters and son, along with their spouses and his parents-in-law. Soon to be a grandfather, he treasures family life and their lively household of animals, which includes a cat, five dogs, a pet steer, a mini-donkey, three goats, chickens, guineas, and a duck.

Dr. Rebecca Wackowski is an experienced primary care physician specializing in Internal Medicine. She earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed her residency at The University of Oklahoma Tulsa campus. She has resided in Tulsa since 1992. Dr. Wackowski has 27 years of experience in Internal Medicine and is affiliated with multiple major hospitals in the Tulsa area. Dr. Wackowski is excited to join VIPcare and looks forward to spending more time caring for and communicating with her patients.

Carla Newton is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 22 years of experience in the healthcare field. She graduated from Vanderbilt University. Carla knew from a young age that nursing was her calling. She got her start in healthcare as an ER tech while still in high school, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion. Over the years, her dedication to patient care and clinical expertise has only continued to grow stronger. Today, she proudly serves on the executive board of the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners, helping to guide and advocate for the future of her profession. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and competitive cooking.

Misty Stephens, APRN-CNP, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in family medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from Missouri Southern State University and her graduate degree from Maryville University. A natural caregiver at heart, Misty was drawn to medicine by her passion for helping others and educating them about healing and wellness. She finds the greatest reward in hearing her patients share that they feel better, have improved symptoms, and are enjoying a higher quality of life.

She takes time to explain each step of the care plan, ensuring her patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their healthcare journey.
