Comprehensive Care for Your Heart

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with a heart condition or are at risk, we’re here to help you. VIPcare provides senior cardiology care and vascular services that focus on early detection, prevention, and ongoing management to help keep your heart strong and healthy.

Holter Monitoring

Heart symptoms like dizziness or irregular heartbeat can come and go without notice. Holter monitoring tracks your heart over time to find a cause.

What it is

A Holter monitor is a small, portable device worn for 24-48 hours that continuously records your heart’s activity. It detects irregular heartbeats or other issues that may not show up on a regular EKG.

How we help

Holter monitoring is done right through your VIPcare provider. The monitor allows us to get a clearer picture of your heart’s activity, so we can treat potential problems effectively.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Management

High blood pressure is a silent threat, often showing no symptoms. If left untreated, it can lead to serious complications like a heart attack or stroke.

What it is

High blood pressure happens when your blood pushes too hard against your artery walls for an extended period. This can damage your heart and blood vessels over time.

How we help

We monitor your blood pressure regularly as part of a personalized treatment plan. Through medication management and lifestyle coaching, we help keep your numbers in a healthy range.

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Prevention & Monitoring

Coronary artery disease is the most common type of heart disease, but also one of the most preventable. Early detection and proper management are key to keeping your heart healthy.

What it is

CAD is when the coronary arteries become narrowed or blocked due to plaque buildup, reducing blood flow to the heart. This can result in chest pain or a heart attack.

How we help

We focus on prevention and early detection using heart screenings, cholesterol control, and lifestyle changes. These steps help to reduce your risk of heart attacks.

High Cholesterol and Lipid Management

Cholesterol plays a key role in your heart health. With regular monitoring and lifestyle changes, you can keep your cholesterol in check.

What it is

Cholesterol is a fatty substance in your blood. Too much "bad" cholesterol (LDL) can build up in your arteries and lead to heart problems.

How we help

We monitor your cholesterol with routine bloodwork and create a personalized treatment plan. This may include diet changes, exercise support, and medications to keep your numbers healthy.

Your Cardiology Questions Answered

What is heart disease?

Heart disease refers to a group of conditions that affect how your heart works. This includes things like high blood pressure, heart failure, and blocked arteries. Many heart conditions can be managed with the right care.

What are vascular diseases?

Vascular diseases affect your blood vessels—like veins and arteries. A common condition is peripheral artery disease (PAD), which makes it harder for blood to flow to your legs and feet.

What are the early signs of heart disease in seniors?

Some common symptoms of heart and vascular disease include shortness of breath, fatigue, swelling in your legs, or feeling dizzy. If you notice any of these signs, you should contact your provider as soon as possible.

How do you prevent heart disease?

Many forms of heart disease can be prevented by following a healthy lifestyle. This includes eating a heart-healthy diet, staying active, avoid smoking, managing stress, and keeping your blood pressure and cholesterol under control. Regular checkups help catch problems early.

What is a normal blood pressure?

A normal blood pressure is usually around 120/80. The top number (120) is your systolic pressure—how much pressure your blood puts on your arteries when your heart beats. The bottom number (80) is your diastolic pressure—how much pressure is there when your heart rests between beats. Your doctor may set different goals based on your overall health, medical conditions, and medications.

What tests do you use to check for heart and vascular issues?

We use a variety of noninvasive tests to check your heart and blood vessels. These help us find problems early and create the right care plan for you. Some of the most common tests include:

  • EKG (Electrocardiogram): This test checks the electrical activity of your heart. It helps us find out if you're having symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath, and it’s also used to monitor medications or implanted devices like pacemakers.
  • Echocardiogram: Also called a cardiac ultrasound, this test uses sound waves to create pictures of your heart. It helps us see how your heart is pumping and check for any problems with its shape or structure, such as problems with valves or chambers.
  • Venous Doppler: This ultrasound looks at blood flow in your veins, often in your legs. It’s helpful for checking for blood clots or problems like varicose veins.
  • Arterial Doppler: This test measures how well blood is flowing through your arteries. It can help detect blocked arteries, circulation problems, or valve issues.

All of these tests are painless, noninvasive, and usually done in under an hour.

How does VIPcare help manage heart and vascular conditions?

We offer regular check-ups, screenings, and personalized care plans that may include medications, lifestyle support, and close monitoring.

Does Medicare cover heart and vascular screenings?
