Ivy Heffelfinger is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care. She received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
With a decade of nursing experience, Ivy began her career as an RN and quickly advanced to become a nurse practitioner. Her diverse background encompasses roles in both hospitalist and palliative medicine within acute care settings.
Ivy is passionate about guiding patients through their chronic and acute illnesses and fostering long-lasting relationships built on compassionate and kind care. Her dedication to the medical field is deeply personal. She became a nurse practitioner not only to make her family proud but also in memory of her brother, who passed away during her first month of nursing school.
Prior to her career in nursing, Ivy served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist’s Mate onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In her free time, she enjoys kayaking with her kids and husband, reading books, cleaning her house, and watching movies with her children and their two fat cats.
