About Me
Dr. LaQuetta Nicol Morris Pettway is a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 31 years of clinical experience. She earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges and her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Dr. Pettway was drawn to medicine by an interest in solving medical mysteries and initially considered becoming a medical examiner. However, a standout physical diagnosis course in medical school sparked a deeper passion for diagnosing, treating, and preventing illness. She strongly believes that prevention is paramount, focusing not only on treating current conditions but also on identifying and addressing issues that could lead to future health concerns. Listening plays a central role in Dr. Pettway’s approach to care, as she sees strong communication and trust as essential—especially when caring for seniors. She values the opportunity to walk alongside patients throughout every stage of their healthcare journey. In her free time, she enjoys visiting art galleries, watching the latest movies, and spending time helping her family.
