About Me
Dr. Nancy Perez Torres is a dedicated general medicine physician committed to delivering patient-centered care. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico before earning her medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). She went on to complete her residency training at Ryder Memorial Hospital in Puerto Rico. Dr. Perez Torres furthered her education at Johns Hopkins University, where she earned a Master of Science in Research Administration. Dr. Perez Torres was inspired to become a physician out of a desire to care for people in a meaningful and personal way. She is driven by clinical curiosity and a strong commitment to identifying effective solutions tailored to each patient’s needs. Building trust through active listening and ensuring patients feel supported and respected brings profound purpose to her work. She especially values the opportunity to build meaningful connections with her patients through open, thoughtful communication. Collaborating on care plans that patients truly understand—and feel confident following—is central to her approach. She approaches preventive care by getting to know each patient’s lifestyle, daily routines, and personal goals. Through regular visits, routine labs, and consistent follow-up, Dr. Perez Torres focuses on identifying subtle changes early and encouraging sustainable habits that promote long-term health. She believes medical visits should feel safe and comfortable, fostering trust, engagement, and better health outcomes over time. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new dining experiences, cooking, traveling, watching films, and exploring new places.

Skin Cancer in Older Adults: Types and Risks
Skin cancer in older adults refers to the abnormal growth of skin cells that often develops after years of cumulative sun exposure, natural aging changes in the skin, and a weakened immune system. It is one of the most common cancers in the United States, and older adults are especially at risk because skin damage builds over a lifetime. While the condition can sound alarming, most skin cancers are highly treatable when detected early.

Benefits of Socialization in Older Adults
Humans are naturally social beings. Meaningful relationships and regular interaction with others help support emotional, mental, and physical health throughout every stage of life. For older adults, staying socially connected becomes even more important for maintaining independence, happiness, and overall well-being.
