About Me
Dr. Shing (Jason) Ko is a family medicine primary care physician who attended medical school at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Dr. Ko’s interest in medicine began during high school, where he was intrigued by science as a whole. While in college, that curiosity became a fascination with the failures of the human body and ways to help remedy them. That passion led him down the medical path. Dr. Ko puts great emphasis on education and preventive medicine to prevent his patients from getting sick in the first place. During his free time, he loves to play pickleball, paint, run, hike, and bike, as well as play video games and read books. He thanks you for choosing VIPcare as your medical home and looks forward to joining you on your healthcare journey

Essential Sun Safety Tips for Older Adults
Summer brings longer days, warmer temperatures, and more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you're spending time with family, gardening, walking in the neighborhood, or attending community events, it's important to take steps to protect your health in the sun.

Skin Cancer in Older Adults: Types and Risks
Skin cancer in older adults refers to the abnormal growth of skin cells that often develops after years of cumulative sun exposure, natural aging changes in the skin, and a weakened immune system. It is one of the most common cancers in the United States, and older adults are especially at risk because skin damage builds over a lifetime. While the condition can sound alarming, most skin cancers are highly treatable when detected early.
