Robert Hummer, MD

Robert Hummer, MD was born and raised in Virginia. He earned his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and completed his residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Hummer has 21 years of experience working as a hospitalist in Northeast Georgia and has brought a wide variety of experience to the VIPcare team for four years. Dr. Hummer has a passion for helping his patients improve and maintain good health throughout their lives. While working in the hospitals, he treated people with all types of ailments and from all walks of life. They were patients who didn’t know their primary care physician or couldn’t get an appointment for months. “They started calling me their primary doctor, even as a hospitalist,” he said. “So, I decided that once I got to the other side, I would, as a primary care physician, try to make sure I was available for patients.” Married to his lovely wife Robyn, they have six wonderful boys and seven grandchildren. He loves spending time with his family. He also enjoys exercise, boating and traveling. Dr. Hummer thanks you for choosing VIPcare as your Medical Home.
