Johanna Johnson, APRN, is a caring and compassionate provider that continually strives to provide 5-star service and is eager to join her patients on their health care journey.
She has over 14 years of experience as a nurse in the medical field and worked her way up from an LPN to an APRN.
Who is Johanna Johnson, APRN
Johanna Johnson may have been born and raised in New Jersey, but Florida is most definitely her home. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” she said. “I love the weather, and I’m an outside person, so this is great.”
Johanna moved to Florida in 2004 to be closer to family. “I then met my husband, so I was kind of stuck here,” she said. However, she’s not complaining.
After her relocation, Johanna began her path to becoming a nurse. A calling she’s had for as long as she can remember.
“I’ve always had a passion for helping people,” she said. “So, when I learned about nursing and what nursing is all about, it just made sense for me to go into this field.”
Shortly after high school, she got her feet wet in the medical field as a patient care technician in a hospital. She then earned her certification as a licensed practical nurse from Osceola Technical College.
From there, she continued on her career course by earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Polk State College in Winter Haven, FL, making her a registered nurse. But she wasn’t done yet. Johanna wanted more. She completed her nursing education with her master’s in nursing from the University of South Florida, graduating at the top of her class.
As an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), Johanna has worked in several medical settings. They’ve included a hospital, specialized care clinic, and primary care private practice. VIPcare has been her medical home for the last several years, and, just like Florida, she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
“I wouldn’t want to do anything else,” she said. “I love getting to build relationships with my patients, and they really do become part of the family. They’re not just another patient.”
