Valerie Smith, D.O.

Dr. Valerie Smith is a friendly, knowledgeable physician with over 18 years of experience in a variety of medical settings and geographies. After graduating from Warner Pacific College with bachelor’s degrees in biology and developmental psychology, Dr. Smith obtained her medical degree from Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internship in General Surgery at St. John Oakland in Michigan and received training in Internal Medicine at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia. 

Dr. Smith has practiced medicine in Washington, Texas, Arkansas, California, and New Zealand. She is now happily settled in Florida.

Dr. Smith has a strong dedication to her patients and takes that responsibility to heart, treating each patient like a family member while she helps them navigate their healthcare needs. She has a priority to help people understand their conditions, treatment plans, and expectations.

“Being that physician who is able to put the puzzle together for the patient and allow them to see the whole picture is very fulfilling,” she said.

Dr. Smith is strongly driven by her faith and commitment to her family. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and having adventures with her family. She is very active and quick to jump into any sport, including soccer, tennis, and basketball. Hiking to waterfalls is a very special passion for her. She also loves cooking and having family meals.
