Lung and Respiratory Services

lung-and-respiratory

At VIPcare, we are dedicated to helping you breathe easier and more efficiently. Our trained and experienced providers diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions, so every breath you take is with ease.

What is the Respiratory System?

The respiratory system is a group of organs and tissues that work together to help you breathe. The lungs are part of the respiratory system and are responsible for helping to bring oxygen into our bodies and removing waste gases, such as carbon dioxide. Without a proper functioning respiratory system to bring oxygen in, our body is unable to function as every cell requires oxygen to live

What Are Common Lung and Respiratory Conditions Treated?

The act of breathing is often taken for granted until we have difficulty doing it. At VIPcare, we treat a wide range of respiratory conditions to help get and keep your lungs healthy and strong.

Conditions we treat include:

  • Asthma
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Chronic bronchitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Lung infections
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Emphysema

What Treatments are Available For Lung and Respiratory Conditions?

VIPcare provides comprehensive, personalized care to patients with new or existing pulmonary issues ranging from seasonal allergies to lung transplants. We work with patients to help devise a treatment plan that aims to improve respiration, so every breath you take is full and effortless.

Our comprehensive respiratory tests and treatments include:

Pulmonary Function Test – A pulmonary function test (PFT) is a test that is noninvasive and shows how well the lungs are working. This test helps our providers diagnose and decide on the treatment of certain lung disorders.

Nebulizer/Breathing Treatment – A nebulizer is used if you have COPD, asthma, or another lung disease. It is a machine that turns liquid medicine into a mist that you inhale through a connected mouthpiece. You take deep breaths for 10 to 15 minutes so the medicine can get into your lungs, opening air pathways and increasing oxygen intake.

Oxygen Treatment – Oxygen treatment provides you with extra oxygen, a gas that your body needs to function. Although you normally absorb it when you breathe, some conditions like pneumonia, an asthma attack, heart failure, etc., can prevent you from getting enough oxygen. Oxygen treatment can reduce symptoms like swollen ankles, fatigue, irritability, and headaches.
