VIPcare continues to grow! We recently added to our provider family in Ocala. Dr. Angelica Roman has joined our team. She is currently assisting in our VIPcare Ocala – SR 40 clinic before heading to our Oakbrook location.
Dr. Roman is a general practice primary care physician who brings much compassion and enthusiasm to VIPcare.
Who is Dr. Angelica Roman?
Born and raised in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Dr. Roman grew up in a hospital setting. As the daughter of two registered nurses, Dr. Roman was always drawn to a career where she could help others.
“Both of my parents have a big heart,” she said. “I learned from them the meaning of humility, compassion, respect, and empathy. Since I was a child, I always wanted to be a doctor.”
Dr. Roman earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic. Following graduation, she moved back to Puerto Rico to complete her internship rotation at San Lucas Hospital in Guayama, Puerto Rico.
Being a provider has allowed her to “give a grain of sand for the well-being of patients,” she said.
She finds it rewarding to see her patients better and happy from her service and staff. “The satisfaction of knowing that my patient left my office better than when they came in and helping them with lifestyle changes,” she said, is what she enjoys most about practicing medicine.
Dr. Roman is excited to have joined VIPcare. “VIPcare gives quality of health,” she said. “They like to spend time with the patient and bring attention.” Something she strives to provide to each and every patient.
She also strives to be approachable to her patients and admits that she has a little child inside her. “I’m super friendly, and I like to always see the positive part of any issue,” she said.
When Dr. Roman isn’t in the clinic, she can be found exploring what all Florida has to offer. She recently moved to Florida with her husband, who is also a primary care provider, and their two children. “They are the reason of my life,” she said.
