VIPcare recently expanded in the Jacksonville region in Florida as we continue to bring Better Health to the senior communities. One of our newest clinics to open is our Orange Park location. Meet Dr. James Biggerstaff, our primary care for our new location. We are thrilled to have Dr. Biggerstaff join our Orange Park clinic.
He brings over 47 years of experience practicing medicine and has served as the Medical Director for multiple medical centers in the area.
Who is Dr. James Biggerstaff?
Dr. Biggerstaff is a Texas native who migrated to Florida following medical school. He earned his bachelor’s in microbiology from the University of Texas. He then attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine, earning his medical doctorate and graduating with honors. Following graduation, he moved to Jacksonville to complete his Family Medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Family Medical Center.
He credits his family doctor for sparking his interest in medicine.
“My family physician was a great influence on my decision,” he said. “He was a very kind and proficient physician.”
Throughout his career, Dr. Biggerstaff has practiced in a variety of settings, including private practice and urgent care. He was even a clinical assistant professor for the University of Florida in Jacksonville—a role he held for 28 years.
As a provider, Dr. Biggerstaff works hard to make his patients feel comfortable. “I feel I’m caring and a good listener,” he said.
Traits that pushed him in the direction of VIPcare. “VIPcare has the potential to spend the time needed to care properly for the patient, especially those with multiple, complex problems,” he said.
He loves interacting with his patients and helping them find solutions and relief to their health concerns.
